Sour Pete & Co. Bakery was born from a simple mission: to craft exceptional, scratch-made baked goods that bring real joy to every bite. We use only the finest ingredients and lean on time-honored, old-world techniques to create sourdough that’s as soulful as it is delicious.
At Sour Pete & Co. Bakery, every loaf starts with patience, purpose, and a living sourdough culture. We don’t use commercial yeast—just flour, water, salt, and time. Each batch is mixed, shaped, and baked by hand using traditional fermentation methods that date back centuries.
Our process isn’t fast, but that’s the point. We believe great bread takes time to develop deep flavor, character, and a texture you can’t rush. From our first bubbly starter to the final golden crust, everything we make is rooted in old-world techniques and a deep respect for the craft.

Whenever possible, we support local farmers and growers by sourcing seasonal ingredients right from our community. Some of what we use even comes straight from our own garden. It’s our way of staying rooted—literally and figuratively—in the place we call home.

Dusty is our wild sourdough starter and the true MVP of Sour Pete & Co. Bakery. Born in a humble jar about a year ago, he’s been bubbling with life, flavor, and just the right amount of sass ever since. Fueled by flour, water, and good vibes, Dusty gives every loaf its signature tang and character. Some bakers use commercial yeast—we’ve got Dusty, and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
